The Saltire Centre @ Glasgow Caledonian University
Les Watson was the project champion who provided the learning and services vision for this innovative new building that opened at Glasgow Caledonian on 30th January 2006. The Saltire Centre provides students and staff with a 21st Century Library, that includes a 600 seat Learning Cafe designed to support conversational learning, and a services mall that is a single point of access to all the services the University provides for students. The Saltire Centre has a wide range of study environments from the monastic to the highly interactive. The building plays to the individuality of students by creating micro-environments in response to their wide range of needs and learning styles. You can find a podcast on the Saltire Centre here and more information here.
